TRIPHASE TECHNOLOGIES, WITH ROBERT AND SHANNA HAECKER
The new Zionsville showroom says it all, with room after room of new and newer home technology tempting all the senses. Luxurious home theatres with advanced audio and video capabilities (complete with candy counters and popcorn carts), smart desks and bars with secret compartments, speakers masquerading as works of art (such as an Ente SoundTile for your Sonos® system), layered lighting schemes that can change to fit whatever mood you’re in…this is the forefront of home intelligence, and it’s right here in the Midwest.
Some of it seems straight out of science fiction, but everything in the showroom is available in real life. The name TRIPhase, however, did come from the 1990’s science fiction movie, Extreme Measures, starring Gene Hackman. A coincidence perhaps, but it stuck and still fits, Shanna says, noting the three phases of a TRIPhase system installation: pre-wire, trim out and final programming.
Robert wrote his business plan for TRIPhase while attending Ball State’s nationally ranked entrepreneurship program. Shanna, also a Ball State graduate, has been helping him steer the ship since before they were married, and they have been in this business for 25 years (literally in the business, sharing a home with their first showroom in the beginning). TRIPhase has evolved, adapting and integrating with the ever-shifting tech trends. But while Robert and Shanna are nimble amidst change, their commitment to quality and to their customers remains constant. “It’s been a wonderful ride,” Shanna exclaims. “It’s about the people, it’s about the industry, it’s about the technology and the way that people can live through their homes with what we offer that makes it so rewarding.”
Nestled in a 50-acre wooded property in the Indianapolis metropolitan area, the owners of this Colorado-inspired dream home had a clear design vision for their space — and a long list of technology to integrate into multiple rooms throughout. As is often the case, the tech-savvy husband and his interior designer wife had to find a middle ground that would accommodate everything on their technology wishlist while not interfering with the design of the space. Wanting their home to feel like a mountain lodge getaway, it was important to keep technology as unobtrusive as possible to maintain a sense of serenity in the space.
The couple enlisted local AV integration firm TRIPhase Technologies of Zionsville, Ind., to help design a whole-home AV system that would deliver on both sound and style. While off-the-shelf products made sense for many of the rooms, there were a couple of areas that called for a custom solution to better blend in with some of the home’s signature design features.
When Indianapolis residents Mike and Liz Simmons couldn’t find a local automobile storage facility to warehouse their collection of classic, exotic and luxury cars, they took it upon themselves to build the city’s only premier automobile storage and social club, SILO Auto Club & Conservancy
With the goal of creating a convenient, modern downtown space where local auto enthusiasts can gather, host events, and securely store valuable vehicles, Simmons hired electronics integrator TRIPhase Technologies to oversee the interior design and outfit the 30,000-square-foot location with a full complement of smart technologies. Now through Linear® Access Control and an Nortek Security & Control LLC, the building’s security, surveillance, door locks, multi-zone audio and video, lighting and even motorized window shades are all fully automated.
